Doris Cellar is the bassist and harmonium player of indie rockers Freelance Whales. While extensively touring their debut album “Weathervanes” throughout the U.S and Europe, Freelance Whales has built up a reputable fan base and received critical acclaim from NPR on their “best of” list of 2010. She is
currently working on a solo album and playing shows in New York.

With Abby Weitz as the frontwoman, The Lookaways had a succesful run, playing notable New York venues such as Sin-e, Lit Lounge, Don Hill’s, the legendary and greatly missed CBGBs, and eventually sharing a stage with the Cold War Kids at Piano’s. The group also recorded an EP entitled “Lovely” and played the East Coast leg of the Warped Tour in the summer of 2006.
Weitz became interested in evolving her sound, and upon the dissolution of The Lookaways she began her latest project, Wise Girl; a girl-group inspired pop-rock outfit, just finished recording their first EP, participated in CMJ Music Marathon with much success, packing the venue (Alphabet Lounge) and are currently playing notable venues in NYC and Brooklyn. Already receiving great reviews and piquing the interest of industry insiders, be sure to catch Wise Girl on their way to becoming the next big thing.

Mekia Denby has been immersed in music since childhood, singing in her church choir, she is a songwriter in addition to teaching music to young children. Mekia recently wrapped up a south American tour with the band Dasher. Mekia is the founder and co-owner of Kidberry LLC. She lives in Harlem with her husband Peter and their two yummy-delicious girls Taylor Olivia 3.5 and Nola Page 8 months old.
